I do know that it was out of <a href="http://drupal.org/node/286448" rel="nofollow">frustration</a> that <a href="http://api.drupal.org/api/function/hook_search_item/4.6" rel="nofollow">hook_search_item</a> was <a href="http://drupal.org/node/163046#comment-257318" rel="nofollow">removed</a>. It has done the trick, though, for what I needed -- even if it did take more code than I though should be required. You’re welcome, Rob.
