There were perhaps some holes in the strategies to promote the portal. I've forwarded your observations on to those that can do something with them. (Me? That is disappointing, especially since I am in the instructional technology program. You would think this would be something my department supported. I can't remember where I first ran across mention of hook_search_page. I do know that it was out of <a href=""http://drupal.org/node/286448" rel="nofollow">frustration</a> that <a href=""http://api.drupal.org/api/function/hook_search_item/4.6" rel="nofollow">hook_search_item</a> was <a href=""http://drupal.org/node/163046#comment-257318" rel="nofollow">removed</a>. It has done the trick, though, for what I needed -- even if it did take more code than I though should be required. You’re welcome, Rob.
