As the other commentators have already noted, you will bring a rare set of skills to the challenges of IT Strategic Planning!

Peter, let me join in congratulating you on your elevation. Listening and synthesizing are one thing; turning that around and reflecting it back to the community in a meaningful and effective away is quite another. The latter seems to be a combination of not only the message, but the messenger, the delivery, and the community's willingness/preparedness to listen. If you have any helpful advice, please pass it along!

Kordell –

I think you hit on the problem right off. I work with educators on Strategic Planning. A constant issue if not only the technology, but also getting the community input. Since most of the community is not real literate on technology many of the educators have resorted to community forums and neighborhood meetings. It is a something that has to be done.Another issue is that those that are involved in the Strategic Planning are often the last to use techology. So the OhioLink challenges of reaching out to those who have the decision making capabilities AND tech links. . . .daunting.

What a challenge.
