I am working on a report that will slobber up this data forthwith. I predicted this in January (and was pooh-poohed by some), based on a report in the Chron that at one university 90 percent of its freshmen had arrived w/laptops (this was fall 2006).It has huge implications for support; wifi aside, most libraries don't have the *wiring* to support the electrical needs of the nomadic student researcher (who will then get on a flight home at the holidays and experience the same thing in airports... welcome to adulthood: the land of limited 'lectricity!). Also libraries that focus services around "library computers" better think again. The library computer may soon become the machine of last resort.Good post, Jester.

Oy, how I love teh interweb.
